Customer comments:"She has very unique art work and style..."
Tuula is a leader in the field...
Two of her customers actually went on to study glass as a major...They are now glass artisans.
Here it goes...Let us makes some glass art ! First we gather up some pre-cut glass pieces wich are already sanded, then solder them together. That's it. Voila' that's all folks.
What we need for this easy and fun example:
- Pre cut/shaped glass
- Then the edges are sanded down.
- Wrap the edges with copper tape
- Edges are soldered together with tin.
The copper tape already surrounds the pre-cut and pre-sanded shapes.
Other 'blue' piece of the glass wait to be used. Copper tape aready in place.
Colored glass on windows and door Tuula uses the method of putting colored glass on windows and doors, Brilliant!!
Send Tuula a drawing or scetch with dimensions of your favorite window or door that you want to contain the glass design. She will draw up a final version, and with your approval create any size shape, dimension, design and color fitting your window/door.
These pictures show how she gets the glass and lead together.
First: With a special forming tool, she staightens the tin to fit the sides of the glass pieces.
Then: Joins two pieces of colored glass together. The tin becomes the supporting frame.
The tin frames the colored glass pieces. After this she uses solder to join the tin. The melting also help form the glass together.
If you live far away...Fine! She often sends her custom art by mail, and since most of her glass art is light, ships easiely with no damage.
